(Tools & Prompts for Freelancers & Self employed)

Newsletter artwork for “Freelancer AI Kit”

Cheers to all the freelancers out there! Previously we published guides to AI tools for small business owners, entrepreneurs, digital creators, and startups, now your time has come.

Say «friend» and you may enter

The freelance marketplace Fiverr reported a 1,400% increase in demand for AI-related skills and services over the last six months. But that does not mean that AI will replace all creators and specialists and perform our jobs 1000 times better, becoming our enemy. It just means that we need to find a language to communicate with it and ask for help, exactly like with the Doors of Durin.

LOTR: The Doors of Durin, Explained

For example, many freelancers struggle with prioritizing tasks and time management not only because they have many projects at the same time but also because they might be located in a different time zone than the rest of the team. And here voice assistants and task managers could lend you a hand!

Also when you are running your own business you are usually your own team: ordering supplies, filling all the paperwork, processing orders, etc. This takes a huge toll and often prevents you from actually creating the product or developing the business.

This is another good reason to make robots work for you! Schedule an email chain, install automatic replies, or set up your own system of client communication run by AI.

Tests before production, user interviews, troubleshooting, and every part of development unseen by clients typically demand huge amounts of money or manpower. Now all of this can be managed through AI tools. What’s more the data that you will receive will be more accurate and processed faster.

Share this with your friends and colleagues, especially if they are AI-savvy!

Share Creators' AI

Content creation is often seen as an industry where AI might threaten the roles of designers and copywriters. However, AI is a greatly underestimated ally, enhancing creativity and efficiency in surprising ways.

For example, Roberto Blake has created over 1600 YouTube Videos and is a leading expert in the Creator Economy, featured by Forbes Entrepreneur, Wall Street Journal & Black Enterprise. Blake uses AI for tasks such as video editing, content creation, and social media management to optimize his workflow and improve efficiency.

For instance, he leverages AI-driven video editing software to streamline the editing process, allowing him to produce high-quality videos more quickly. He also uses AI tools for generating ideas, creating graphics, and managing his social media presence, which helps him stay ahead in the competitive digital content space.

To date, Roberto has earned over $2M in revenue as a full-time creator grown his audience to over 600,000, and generated over 40M views.

As you can see AI can revolutionize starting a new business or side hustle by automating processes and streamlining tasks.

# Let us see what tools are out there to power up your freelance and personal projects

Create online-courses

Just like Roberto in our example, you can turn your own knowledge into a product with tools like Heights AI or Absorb.

Ai can suggest marketing ideas, analyze your data, create slides and titles for lessons, work with structure, and take the building of the course off your hands. After the AI works its magic, all you have to do is populate the lessons of the course with your unique content and insights.

Generate design assets and images

Midjoyrney and Stable Diffusion can do a lot in capable hands and become partners to your online business. You may argue that AI would be doing all the work but we will throw it right back at you with these examples Matthew Olpinski is a digital creator who is selling AI art on Etsy. His prompts are unique and sometimes undergo many iterations before they become the artwork he was aiming for. And Tailor brands created their own website employing AI tools to generate logos based on your description, they recently hit 46.8M in revenue.

Automatically search for new clients and projects

With platforms like GigRadar and Upwork, you can check industry trends, and find new projects and clients by leveraging advanced search capabilities, data analytics, and personalized recommendations. There are also networking opportunities and the ability to see feedback left by clients.

Outsource market discovery and research

Instead of reading thousands of reports and trying to understand a new demography or client portraits, you can ask ChatGPT to do that for you. For example, using this prompt:

I want to start an online delivery program where my customers can order salad bowls via an online app and have the food delivered to their homes in Chicago. Act as a market researcher and give me information on the demographics of people most likely to order salads in Chicago—including age groups, income, education, gender, and specific location.

If you already have some data on your product and clients’ behavior, ChatGPT can take those off your hands create a customer journey map, and suggest their next purchases.

Create a compelling portfolio

Everyone knows their Wix and WordPress but rarely uses their AI features which is a shame. For example, Elementor AI for Wordpess can suggest designs and posts based on your industry and business description. And fulfill the about and summary sections everyone usually struggles with.

Tools like Unicorn Platform offer user-friendly AI portfolio generation as part of their website builder. With AI assistance, Unicorn Platform can analyze your niche, brand style, and audience to generate optimized portfolios. The AI selects visually appealing themes, color schemes, page layouts, and more to create portfolios that convert.

And Taskade has a list of prewritten simple prompts in case your portfolio is actually a blog about projects and clients.
