Why Use AI for Customer Research?
If consumer insights are the door that leads to business success, then I would call AI tools the universal lockpick. Algorithms are really good at processing big data. With the right tools and prompts, you'll have no problem finding your target audience.
That's what we're going to talk about today.

Here's how Stable Diffusion portrays big data. Is that you, Bill Zuckerberg?
Here are a few reasons to use AI for consumer insights:
- Speed and scale: AI can process colossal amounts of data in a fraction of the time it would take humans to do the same.
- Real-time analytics: It is impossible to track all the trends manually. AI platforms can analyze data as it's created, providing real-time feedback.
- Predictive analytics: Understanding the past and the present is good. However, algorithms can also predict future customer actions and requests.
And, as we realized with the case study below, it is also noticeably cheaper than ordering relevant research from third-party agencies and consulting companies.

Alex Berman's Real Use Case
If these examples don't seem practical, here's a simpler real-life case study by creator Alex Berman. He is a young blogger, creator, and founder of the startup Galadon.io.
This company, by the way, helps its customers create their own AI in less than 10 minutes. But that's a story for another newsletter by Creators AI. :)

In one of his videos, he said that the number of trial subscriptions on his platform started to slow down and reached a plateau over time. Alex realized he needed to change something and attract more customers. He decided to customize his landing page according to the target audience's demands and used ChatGPT.
Using a chatbot, Alex compiled a list of customer's pain points and prepared a post for Reddit to find out what questions users were interested in. Then, he used ChatGPT to compile a list of answers to popular questions and objections. Finally, he used a chatbot to create targeted marketing campaigns.
Here are a few prompts he used with GPT-4 to prepare for the targeting strategy:
First go to galadon.io and learn what it is and then write me a Reddit post full of all the issues of a business owner that is trying to grow his business. Some tracktion and decent money coming in but let’s say grow is stuck at 1% mom and he wants 100%
Now as the director of marketing for Galadon.io (bing search this first). Tell me how galadon will help him. By hyper specific and do a chain of beliefs
Now as the customer give me a ton of excuses or bad beliefs around all these topics. Then break each belief down with powerful examples etc for galadon
Can you make me a list of what the ideal Galadon user worries about the most? In their words and how Galadon solves it? In the most persuasive wat possible this is a reference sheet for the sales and marketing team
All of these actions took the creator no more than 15 minutes. At the same time, Alex said similar marketing research could cost up to $30,000.

Now, let's discuss AI tools and prompts that will help you achieve similar (or even better!) results.
Find Your Perfect Customers with AI
Of course, customer experience is a very broad area. Your business type, goals, and current results determine what kind of customers you need. That's why I suggest starting with beginner tools for finding and analyzing your target audience.
And that's where our favorite ChatGPT will help us.
Simplest Way for Beginners | ChatGPT & Prompts

We'll work in a few steps to find your target audience through ChatGPT.
You can use GPT 3.5 for this task, but I recommend the paid version GPT-4. This version takes into fresh data and make the result more relevant.
Alternatively, you can also use Gemini, Claude or Bing AI.
Use the Chatbot to Create a Buyer Persona
A buyer persona is a detailed profile for your ideal customer. As an example, I will use a company that builds low-cost country houses for people in Portugal. Here's the prompt you can use:
My business [write how you business helps customers]. Write a buyer persona for its product.
You'll get a lot of valuable information in the output, including:
- Background of a Buyer Persona
- Goal and Motivations
- Preferences
- Buying Triggers

Creators’ AI could be a valuable gift for your friend, colleague, or family member. Gifting books is bright, but giving an AI newsletter is a superb move 😎
Find Places to Target Your Ideal Customer
Now, use a chatbot to find our ideal customer online. Here's a prompt that will do the trick:
Using the above buyer persona write a few paragraphs on a day in the life of my buyer. It should include where they hangout online and how the decide what to buy and when it.
Here's part of my result:

Great! These two prompts provided a lot of helpful information. Using buyer persona, you can quickly reach your target audience and set up your first marketing campaign. But if this result isn't enough for you, here are some additional prompts that may also come in handy:
"Describe the main pain points a [buyer persona type] might experience related to [product/service category]. What keeps them up at night?”
"What are the typical objections or hesitations that prevent [buyer persona type] from purchasing [product/service category]?”
"What does success look like for [buyer persona type] after using [product/service]? What problems would be solved?”
"What types of experts or influencers does [buyer persona type] look towards when making decisions (industry leaders, peers, online reviewers, etc.)?”

If you want to learn even more about analyzing content information with AI, we have the right newsletter for you:
It's not the hype, it's the results
I'd say you shouldn't think of AI tools for customer insights as fancy and temporary gadgets. Yes, this can be true when it comes to creative activities. AI models are still confused in these matters and often give bad advice. However, such AI has long been markedly superior to humans when dealing with analytics and big data. And if you put together the right framework you can start a growth engine for your business.
